2018 All-State K/P Pierson Cooke will continue his academic and football career at Vanderbilt University. The special teams standout has accepted a preferred walk on from the Commodores, an SEC-East team.

Cooke finished his senior season making 53 of 55 PAT’s for a 96% conversion rate. 45 of his 64 kickoffs were touch backs, averaging 56.8 yards per kickoff. As a punter, he averaged 44 yards a punt with his longest being 64 yards. Of his 23 punts, 12 of them placed the other team inside their 20 yard line.

“Pierson gave us an added dimension with his strong special teams play,” said Former Cranbrook Head Coach Joe D’Angelo. “His kicking ability allowed us to put our opponents in tough field position. He also gave us the ability to score from longer distances with field goals.

Cooke had interest from Bowling Green, Michigan, Washington State, Illinois, and Harvard.
