Division 8 State Championship Overview: Ottawa Lake Whiteford returns to Ford Field after a for the most part breeze to get to this game, the Bobcats shockingly had no issues with Mendon last week, beating them 50-21. Nouvel squeaked out a win last week up in the Upper Peninsula vs. West Iron County. Both teams are 13-0.

State Finals history:

Nouvel defeated Pewamo-Westphalia in Division 7 in 2011, Nouvel beat Inkster and Blissfield in Division 6 in both 2006 and 2007, lost to Ravenna in 2003 in Division 6, and in 1987 lost to Erie Mason in Class C.

Whiteford's lone appearance was a loss in 2016 to Muskegon Catholic Central.

Last weeks predictions: 1-1 (12-6 Overall in Division 8)

Breakdown: Whiteford has been a team on a mission this year since losing to Muskegon Catholic Central in 2016. Whiteford is playing great on both sides of the ball and is definitely peaking as the games goes on. Nouvel last week didn't play a great game but they shut WIC's run first offense in the 2nd half and used a huge kickoff return to start the 2nd half.

Prediction: Whiteford 35-21

Explanation: Whiteford matches up well in every category besides special teams. Whiteford defeated Mendon with no issues who besides Whiteford was the hottest team in Division 8. The quarterback play from Nouvel's Tate Hausbeck and Whiteford's Thomas Eitniear will be something to watch as it's best QB dual in all 8 divisions.
