Division 5 State Championship Overview: West Catholic, the beast of Division 5 looks to win their 5th straight Division 5 title on Saturday. In their way will be Swan Valley who impressively held Reed City to just 2 touchdowns last week.

State Finals history:

West Catholic has won the Division 5 title each year since 2013. They lost the year prior in 2012 vs. Portland. West Catholic also won a Division 5 title in 2010 vs. Olivet and lost in the 1979 Class B finals vs. Lumen Christi.

Swan Valley on the other hand will be appearing in their first state title game.

Last weeks predictions: 1-1 (17-1 Overall in Division 5)

Breakdown: The D Zone had their first wrong prediction in the Division 5 playoffs as Swan Valley spoiled our perfect bracket. Swan Valley will take a chance to spoil West Catholic's season and chance to win 5 straight as its tough to go against such a high-powered offense of West Catholic and a defense that some colleges in the state of Michigan would want to have. Swan Valley will need to do what they did vs. Reed City 200 times better to pull off this upset.

Prediction: West Catholic 35-17

Explanation: West Catholic this time of the year is a guaranteed win. Anything can happen and that's the reason you play the game, but with or without Emmett Boehler returning from injury the Vikings were and still are the heavy underdogs.
