River Rouge 2019 ATH Daraun McKinney took the opening kickoff vs. Chelsea in the District Finals 80 yards for a touchdown.

McKinney set the state record for the most kickoff returns for a touchdown in a season with that being his 7th touchdown.

McKinney got his junior season started off right by returning the first kickoff in their game vs. East English Village for a touchdown and he hasn't looked back since.

McKinney broke a near 20 year record that Josh Tarbox of Menominee set in 1998 with 6 kickoff return touchdowns.

McKinney also is the only player in the state to ever return 5 punts for a touchdown.

The 5'10" 175 lbs McKinney holds scholarship offers from Indiana and Cincinnati.
