West Ottawa finishes with 8-1 record Last year's record was 2-7, no playoffs, no conference championship, no school records, and hardly any wins. The Panthers were predicted to finish last in the OK Red this year, but with one offseason, coach Ryan Oshnock came into the picture and led the Panthers to the biggest year in school history.

West Ottawa vs. Grandville

Early on, things seemed to be going the right way for the Panthers. Seankeese Townsend had no problem getting into the end zone for the first time at the 5 minute mark in the first quarter and never slowed down from there. With that being said, the Bulldogs defense seemed to be unprepared for the speed and strength of Seankeese Townsend and the Panthers. After an Interview with Townsend, he said the gamplan was "to come out in attack mode.we wanted to move fast", and that is exactly how you could explain this game. Seankeese Townsend, with the help of coach Oshnock perfect blocking scheme led by senior captian center Omar Disla who fired up his teamates early, went on to score 6 rushing TD's, tying for 3rd place in the state for most rushing touchdowns in a game and setting a new West Ottawa record with 6 rushing touchdowns In a game. "I just wanted to leave it all on the field", said Townsend. Being West Ottawa's senior night and potentially last home game, the Panthers wanted to put on a show for the home crowd. Season stand outs Xavier Wade and Issac VanDyke could not seem to get in the endzone tonight but did what they had to do to the whole season to clinch the outright conference championship. Throughout the season, they both put up outstanding numbers. Including Xavier Wade's 11 receiving and 2 rushing touchdowns plus a 98yard kickreturn touchdown. Credit is due to the Panthers defense led by coach Oshnock. The Panthers shut down the Bulldogs untill the 3rd quarter when they got their first touchdown and allowed just 18 points the entire game while the Panthers offense put up 41.

The Panthers are not a team that can be overlooked when considering the top teams in the state, with stand out athletes: Xavier Wade, Seankeese Townsend, Issac VanDyke, Liam Cavanaugh, Omar Disla, Bryan Johnson, Logan Deridder, Angelo Mata, Victor Napoles, Jason Fairfield and starting freshman receiver Blake Bosma, this Panthers team has the weapons it needs to go all the way.
