Round 2 Overview: The 2016 runner-ups Maple City Glen Lake were beaten by Saint Francis for the 2nd time this season. The bottom of the bracket had a huge shake-up as the underdogs both won.

Upsets: Blissfield beat Columbia Central again by the score of 27-17 and Michigan Collegiate knocked out Detroit Central 38-34 in a great game.

What to look forward to in Round 3:

Traverse City Saint Francis did the near impossible of beating the runner-ups back-to-back times this year. They'll travel to Millington who outscored Houghton Lake in a shootout. These Division 6 schools are looking to finish in a rhythm by playing on Friday nights, St. Francis could have easily declined to play on Friday. It's a 3 hour drive from Saint Francis.

Ithaca and Montague both cruised in week 11 to setup a battle of unbeatens this week. These two teams haven't played one another since 2011 when Ithaca won and of course in 2009 when Montague won which was the last loss Ithaca had since 2014 as Ithaca went on a 69 game winning streak after that loss to Montague. It's a cute story line 6-8 years later but everyone now is focused on two, 11-0 vs. 11-0 teams.

Watervliet cannot win easily vs. Delton Kellogg maybe it's a good thing as the Panthers escaped by the score of 58-50. Watervliet is the 3rd highest scoring offense in the state and they'll need every point they can vs. the defending champions Lumen Christi who crushed Michigan Center last weekend. This should be a great game on Saturday at 1 pm.

Blissfield entered the playoffs 5-4, but continues to beat better teams. The Royals lost to teams they shouldn't in the regular season, so it's only fitting they've reeled out 3 straight upsets and will have the chance to when they play one of the state's most lethal playmakers in Tracy Hubbard who has scored 36 total touchdowns, 34 on the ground and Hubbard has rushed for 2,284 yards.
