Round 2 Overview: 7 favorites won while defending Champions Grand Rapids Catholic Central struggled for 2nd week in a row.

Upsets: None.

What to look forward to in Round 3:

Escanaba was expected to be in a dog-fight with Alma, but wound up winning comfortably. We had Williamston on upset alert over a slightly lower ranked Notre Dame Prep squad but the Hornets stung hard winning 47-21. Williamston will now head to the UP for a showdown with Escanaba who is heavily favored.

#17 Grand Rapids Catholic Central for the 2nd straight week avoided an upset. An 11 point win over Kelloggsville and 6 point Round 1 win is pretty alarming. Belding won in a shootout like we predicted vs. Comstock Park. Belding will need to shutdown RB Nolan Fugate who has been unstoppable so far in the post-season.

Edwardsburg avenged their lone loss to Three Rivers, by winning comfortably 30-12. Maybe the Eddies saved their best for Three Rivers knowing they would play this week? Either way they're on to facing a strong Lansing Sexton team who played mostly all Division 1 teams in their CAAC Blue division. The Big Reds were prepared to make a run and had a tough win at Plainwell. Edwardsburg and Lansing Sexton is arguably one of the best games in the state in Round 3 and will kickoff at 1pm on Saturday.

River Rouge had a statement, no-doubter win at Chelsea this past week. Daraun McKinney set the state record for kickoff returns in a season, returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown, he'll be limited to likely nothing with Cranbrook's Pierson Cooke kicking. Cooke booted all his kickoffs out of the end zone and had a 67 yard punt. Cranbrook won a defensive battle vs. Mumford this past week.
