Brother Rice 2015 QB Alex Malzone was once the focal point and a fine recruiter himself of the Wolverines 2015 recruiting class as the Wolverines were ranked as the #14 recruiting class in the country by 247Sports. Unfortunately for Malzone Michigan wasn't able to develop him further on the field as the record setting QB from powerhouse, Brother Rice only saw action in one game during his 3-year stay at Michigan.

Alex Malzone is listed 16 times in the MHSAA record book, as his top target Grant Perry at the time in 2014 set a state record with 105 catches in a single-season.

Malzone released his intentions to transfer, "It has been an awesome 3 years playing for the University of Michigan that I will cherish forever. It was a dream of mine to play for the University of Michigan and it’s been an honor to wear the winged helmet. I will be graduating in April and will become a graduate transfer with 2 years left to play. Thank you to the Michigan coaching staff that has helped me mature and develop over these years. I’ve had great experiences with this team and have made relationships that will last a lifetime. I’m excited to continue my journey playing this great game."
